Roasted Pumpkin Seeds with Fusion® Chipotle Salt

Carving pumpkins is an artistic outlet at the heart of Halloween tradition that started as a means of keeping wandering spirits at bay. Today, it doubles as the perfect excuse to make an easy, healthy snack from the pumpkin seeds that are scooped out. While sea salt is the classic approach for seasoning pumpkin seeds, we recommend taking a walk on the wild side with Fusion® Chipotle Salt. This smoky seasoning combines the earthy spiciness of smoked chipotle peppers with the crisp taste of all natural Pacific sea salt. Boiling the seeds first is the definitive way to get a crunchier, tastier pumpkin seed snack. It’s the perfect way to enjoy this fall favorite!



  1. Scrape the seeds from the pumpkin and rinse in a colander to remove large chunks of flesh and strings. The seeds do not need to be completely clean as much of the flesh will come off in the boiling process.
  2. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.
  3. Bring water to a boil and add Pure Ocean Atlantic Sea Salt (fine grain) with the pumpkin seeds. Boil for 10 minutes.
  4. While seeds are boiling, lay out some paper towels on a baking sheet or large cutting board for drying.
  5. Pour seeds into a colander and rinse. Lay them out on prepared cookie sheets and top with paper towels. Pat to dry.
  6. Toss seeds in a bowl with olive oil and Chipotle Salt to taste.
  7. Place on a foil covered baking sheet in a single layer and bake until they begin to brown, 10-15 minutes. Seeds will change from a wet, grayish color to more of an opaque white as they become fully roasted.
  8. Remove from the oven and top with a fresh sprinkling of Chipotle Salt to taste.
  9. Store in an airtight container.
