Shipping & Delivery

At SaltWorks, we strive to work swiftly when packaging, processing and shipping your wholesale order. Whether you’re ordering cases of our jars to stock your shelves or bulk bags for repack or manufacturing, SaltWorks production and shipping teams will prepare your orders—from small package to truckloads—quickly, efficiently and with the utmost care to ensure your delivery reaches you as quickly and economically as possible.

Below you’ll find SaltWorks shipping policies and delivery information specific to our business customers. If you’re a retail customer, please read the Shipping & Delivery page on our retail site.

General Shipping Information

We offer a variety of shipping options depending on your needs. Shipping rates are based on the shipping method, total weight and volume of your order, as well as the destination. We do our best to pack every order carefully and securely to ensure that your products arrive in good condition.

For smaller wholesale orders (generally under 500 pounds), we ship via UPS Ground. These orders are typically packaged and shipped from our facility within 1-2 business days after an order is placed.

For larger shipments—including, but not limited to: pallet-quantities of cases, pouches or bags of bulk salts; superbags; ocean containers or truckloads—we offer freight shipping via SaltWorks approved carriers. For qualifying orders, you can request a freight shipping quote online during the checkout process or contact our customer service team by calling (800) 353-7258.

Standard Shipping

UPS is our chosen carrier for standard shipping of all small parcels (typically orders weighing less than 500 pounds). Orders shipped by UPS Ground are typically packaged and sent from our warehouse in Washington State within 1-2 business days. (Business days are Monday through Friday not including holidays or weekends.)

The transit time for your order depends on the distance it has to travel and may be affected by factors outside of SaltWorks control such as late trailers, poor weather conditions or higher shipping volumes. Please see the UPS Ground Time in Transit map below for delivery estimates across the US.

Once your order is packaged and picked up from our facility, SaltWorks will send you a shipment confirmation email with tracking information. You may also check your order status and access tracking information by logging into your Wholesale Account Dashboard. If you would like SaltWorks to ship collect on your UPS small package account, please provide your account number and desired service level when prompted during the checkout process.

Freight Shipping

Wholesale or bulk orders that are too large to be shipped as a small package via UPS Ground will be shipped on a truck using common carriers. You can request a freight quote during the checkout process for qualifying orders or by calling our sales team at (800) 353-7258.

Delivery

For packages shipped via UPS small package, SaltWorks does not require a signature upon delivery. The delivery driver will make every attempt to leave the package if you’re not available to accept it, but if he or she doesn’t feel comfortable leaving it unattended, they may instead leave you a delivery notification with additional information for completing delivery on another day. Per UPS policy, this is subject to the driver’s discretion.

For freight shipments, you or a representative must be present to take delivery of the shipment. The delivery location must be easily accessed by a semi-truck. If the carrier is not able to complete the delivery, you are responsible for any and all re-consignment, re-delivery, or return shipping fees. SaltWorks is not responsible for and cannot offer refunds on freight orders that cannot be delivered.

In the event of loss or damage to your freight shipment, please make a note of all damages or other issues on your Bill of Lading and contact our customer service team at (800) 353-7258 or shipping@seasalt.com as soon as possible.

International Shipping

All prices are listed in United States dollars (USD). SaltWorks does not calculate or provide conversion rates.

To Canada: We can ship to Canada. Transit charges are based on the shipping method, weight and volume of your order and final destination. This charge will be calculated at checkout. SaltWorks shipping charge does not include additional import costs that will apply. Please see below for details.

For orders shipped via UPS small package: Customs, duties, taxes or other import fees are not included in the shipping charge paid to SaltWorks. Any additional charges will be imposed and collected by UPS and/or Canadian Customs separately. You are responsible for paying these fees directly to the billing party. For any information regarding these charges, please contact UPS, your customs broker or Canadian Customs directly.

For orders shipped via freight or LTL: To ship freight to Canada, you will be required to provide your custom broker’s contact information for customs clearance at the border. SaltWorks cannot arrange freight shipments to Canada without this information. Customs, duties, taxes and other import fees are not included in your payment to SaltWorks; these additional costs and fees will be billed to you separately by your elected brokerage firm.

Important: If you choose not to pay these additional charges to have your order delivered to Canada, we cannot issue a refund for the undelivered items nor the shipping costs.

Other International Destinations: We can offer international shipping. Quotes for international shipping charges (outside of the US and Canada) are provided on a case-by-case basis and cannot be provided during online checkout. All international orders must be placed directly through a SaltWorks representative.
